Accessibility statement

Commitment

The website performa.example is designed and developed to be accessible to as many users as possible, including people with visual, auditory, motor and cognitive disabilities.

Standard of conformance

The site is designed to conform to the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

This includes, among other things:

  • Text/background contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
  • Full keyboard navigation with visible focus on every interactive element.
  • Semantic HTML structure with <header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer> and a correct heading hierarchy (h1, h2, h3).
  • Alt text on every informative image; alt="" on purely decorative images.
  • No content that depends solely on color to be understood.
  • Respect for user preferences prefers-reduced-motion (animations disabled if requested) and prefers-color-scheme (light and dark theme support).
  • Skip link at the top of every page to jump directly to the main content.
  • ARIA landmarks correctly attributed to primary sections.
  • No JavaScript dependency for content consumption: the site is static and readable without JavaScript.

Verification methodology

Conformance has been verified via:

  • Automated analysis with axe DevTools and Lighthouse during development.
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing across all main pages.
  • Contrast verification on color tokens in both light and dark mode.
  • Screen reader testing (NVDA on Windows) on key pages.

Non-accessible content

At the time of publication:

  • The SVG diagram on the home page is marked as role="img" with a descriptive text label (aria-label). The diagram is illustrative: all the information it conveys is also described in the surrounding text and on the What is ABC page.
  • Embedded third-party content (Google Fonts) is provided by an external domain and its accessibility depends on the provider.
